Located in the Beltline section of downtown Calgary, Village Ice Cream is certainly a place you don't want to miss if you're an ice cream connoisseur like myself. I was surprised when going there for the first time that they actually have a small parking lot right there with tons of street parking for a downtown location. This quaint little shop I imagine is super busy in the summer when it gets hot outside, and luckily is open everyday from 11am to 11pm. What I immediately liked when entering the shop was seeing the prices. Decent ice cream nowadays from other shops nowadays seems to cost an arm and a leg, but I was able to get two massive scoops for $7. As you'll see in the picture below, the scoops are indeed massive!
The flavour I got (as pictured above) was strawberry, my favourite kind of ice cream, and Village Ice Cream's strawberry did not disappoint. The other person I was with chose to have one scoop of mint and one scoop of earl grey (picture below), which they concluded tasted amazing together. The staff were very friendly, and that can be a big reason for why I return to places more than once.
After we got our ice cream we sat and enjoyed it on the outdoor patio. Also, the patio has planters filled with flowers around it. Overall both of us and I enjoyed our first time at Village Ice Cream. I'll be back!
Pros:
Excellent Ice Cream
Decently Priced
Cute Patio
Friendly Staff
Lots of Parking
Cons:
Could Be Very Busy Come Summer
Patio is Not Covered
Loud Music Made it Slightly Hard to Order
Verdict:
Will be Returning ASAP!
