Today I talk about 5 hikes near Calgary that are great for all ages. The first is Troll Falls in Kananaskis. Located near the Nakiska ski area, the 1 kilometer trek provides excellent views of a waterfall with the option to continue higher to the hidden waterfalls. The second is the Tiger Lily Loop in the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. The looped trail takes you through the terrain in between Cochrane and Calgary. You might even see some western wood lilies along the path! Third is the looped trail at Big Hill Springs Provincial Park, which takes you past all of the beautiful rock formations and cascading waterfalls.Fourth is the popular Grassi Lakes trail in Canmore, which is where I proposed to my wife many years ago.
The last trail is the looped hike around Mt. Lorette Ponds in Kananaskis. It's a great place to have a picnic/fire and then stroll around the water to admire how clear it is.
